Frank Bingley
I've been painting on and off all of my life. Although I’ve had no formal training in art, various tutors have guided me for short periods over the years. As a child, I was raised in the small village of Gumley in Leicestershire. Even at junior school, it soon became apparent to me that I loved drawing and painting - I could sit for hours and amuse myself with any sort of medium.

After leaving school with an A+ for art, it wasn’t until my mid twenties that I sought further education in the form of an oil painting course at a local school, with a tutor named Edna Bull. Around twenty years later followed a couple of years watercolour painting under the tuition of Mary Rodgers. Some time later, Joyce Markie ran a course of life drawing locally, which was to help with my fascination for people and portrait work.

After initially working with watercolour, then several types of other media, I've recently been experimenting with gouache and lino printing, both of which are a very satisfying way of spending my days in a creative manner.

I am a member of the Leicester Society of Artists and Chairman of the Market Harborough Art Club. I am also a member of the South Leicestershire Art Group and member of the Langton Art group.

For several years I have had work selected for the Leicester Open Events where I have made sales, and I've also exhibited and sold work at the Little Theatre gallery in Leicester. Other local venues where I've exhibited include the Harborough Theatre, Great Bowden Art Exhibitions and in the foyer of the Market Harborough Building Society.

Most of my work is done for pleasure, but I do accept commissions. Please email me if you are thinking of having a bespoke painting done.
